The Story

Neither Vince nor Amy can point out exactly the first time they met.  Regardless of when they met, Vince will never forget the first time he “noticed” Amy.  At a Life Group potluck, Amy told Vince he was, “cool,’ and he was instantly hooked.  Well…maybe there’s more to it than that.  At a barbeque for a friend’s birthday, Vince was impressed with Amy’s caretaking skills when she relentlessly insisted Vince break from cooking burgers so he himself could also eat.  She went so far as to prepare him a plate, bring it to him and require he stop cooking so that he could eat his meal.  Like any good Italian boy, he immediately took notice of her valuable wifely qualities and traits that were demonstrated that day.  Now he began to be interested.

Soon thereafter, Amy requested help for her apartment move from Tustin to Costa Mesa.  As is often the case, Vince honored the request and arrived along with about ten other friends from Life Group to help Amy with her move.  Once the moving truck was loaded and ready to make the southbound trek down the 55 freeway, Vince was surprised that no one had offered to drive the truck for Amy, and that in fact, she had planned to drive it herself.  Fearing for Amy’s safety, Vince volunteered his driving skills (or as his future mother-in-law would say, “his lack thereof”).  Amy took notice of this sweet gesture, and now she began to be interested.

Having mutual friends made the first “group date” natural for Vince and Amy.  However, they quickly became easy targets for the comical group who soon suspected something going on between the pair.  As they settled into their now new and exciting relationship, it didn’t take long for God to reveal in both of them that this was the person He had chosen for each of them.

Seven months later, Vince and Amy made the short trip up to Sacramento to spend Christmas with Amy’s family.  Unbeknownst to Amy, Vince had brought a special piece of jewelry with him.  Just as the family had finished opening gifts, Vince and Amy were left alone.  When Vince was finally able to get Amy to stop cleaning for ten seconds, he got on one knee to pop the question as she unwrapped a “First Christmas” ornament with the engagement ring attached.  Elated with being newly engaged, Vince and Amy returned to Southern California to begin a new year and plan the much anticipated wedding.

Vince and Amy would like to thank their family and friends for your love and support leading up to the wedding day.  They also praise God for His constant presence in their relationship, and are grateful for how clearly His will for them has been revealed.  Ask them, and they would love to share the story of how He has directed their relationship.
